European men: Women don’t deserve equal pay
Contributed by Ireland based Janet Anderson (name changed)
It is very sad to see European men not as open minded as they claim. Even in this day and age, many of them still think that women don’t need to be acknowledged or paid the same as men in the same position.
At a point in my career, I was the number one corporate insurance sales representative in the team. And guess what the managing director of the company said to me one day? He didn’t think that I should have been paid as much as I actually were because I would probably soon be married anyway, and then I would have to stop my career. And all these were only in his mind!!??
I left the company one month later! And I am still not married, still don’t want to be and, if I do marry, I will still have my own career.
What do you think? Comment below!!

Women have been some of the best colleagues and performers i have ever worked with and this is not an opinion based on the fact that I happen to be a Woman myself. Having said that some interesting observations which have always left me a bit flummoxed….
1. If a male colleague has the picture of his wife and kids on his desk he is a family man… ( Great —-many pluses )
2. If a woman has the same on her desk she is not so great ( cause being a family person questions her dedication to her job and commitment to her role)
3. Annual days, PTA’s, Sick leaves and many such instances can have the same varied and unfair reactions…
Is is cause it is a man’s world and they make the rules ?? Or is it that we forget that it is possible that a successful woman sometimes leaves men ill equipped to deal with her…..
